Shahzaad Dalal

Mr. Dalal is the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of IL&FS Investment Managers Limited and has 25 years experience in investment management and operations. He has the overall responsibility for fund oversight, strategic inputs to investments and investee companies and crafting exit strategies. He has significant prior experience as an investment banker in infrastructure projects, structured financial products, marketing and credit evaluation. At IIML, Mr. Dalal has been responsible for private equity transactions with an aggregate capitalization value in excess of US$ 5 billion.

Mr. Dalal maintains membership on a number of boards, including that of Indraprastha Gas, ABG Shipyards, Shoppers’ Stop, Datamatics Technologies, Arch Pharmalabs, ETL Infrastructure, iMetrix Technologies and Tejas Networks. Mr. Dalal received a Bachelors degree in Commerce from the University of Mumbai (India) and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Northeast Louisiana University (United States).

Prakash Gurbaxani

Prakash Gurbaxani founded QVC Realty Co. in January 2007. As the CEO of QVC Realty Co., he directs all aspects of the business.

Prakash brings with him over two decades of experience in real estate, construction and IT/ITES. Prior to setting up QVC Realty Co., Prakash was the CEO of TSI Ventures, a joint venture between Tishman Speyer and ICICI Venture. Before TSI Ventures, he was the CEO of TransWorks Information Services, one of India's leading BPO companies with almost 4,000 employees.

In December 1997, Prakash successfully launched India's first Internet media company, Micromedia. In April 2000, he co-founded 24/7 Customer, a leading outsourced CRM services company based in Bangalore. Between 1984 and 1997, he worked in various senior management positions in the construction industry in the United States.

Prakash was one of the finalists for the Ernst & Young India Entrepreneur of the Year 2001 awards. He is currently a charter member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Bangalore Chapter.

Prakash holds a Master's Degree in Construction Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Newark, NJ, and a B.S. (Major in Civil Engineering) from Regional Engineering College (REC), Nagpur, India.

Dr. Archana Hingorani

Dr. Hingorani, Executive Director, IL&FS Investment Managers Limited, has over 21 years experience in the financial services business, teaching and research. Her focus has been on private equity, project finance and financial structuring, with a specialization in infrastructure, manufacturing and recently in real estate projects.  She has been with the IL&FS Group for 14 years, and has performed a multitude of roles – starting off as an economist and moving on to project finance, and asset management. Dr. Hingorani has worked on some of the pioneering private finance transactions in India and has participated in negotiating and structuring project contracts, especially in the infrastructure sector.

Dr Hingorani’s focus over the last 11 years has been on private equity fund management. She is one of the founding members of the IL&FS private equity business and has overseen investments with an aggregate capitalization value in excess of US$ 4.5 bn. In April 2005, Dr Hingorani jointly with Mr Shahzaad Dalal raised the IL&FS India Realty Fund, a US$ 525 mn Fund, mandated to invest across the real estate sector in India. Dr. Hingorani is a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) with post-graduate qualifications in Management (MBA) as well as a Ph.D. in Corporate Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, USA.

Gaurav Deepak

Gaurav Deepak is one of the founding members at Avendus and was instrumental in setting up the IT Enabled services practice for the firm. He currently heads the Consumer Products and Services team.

Prior to Avendus, Gaurav worked with ICICI, one of the largest financial institutions in India and was part of a team which made investments in the online travel, payment processing and promotions space. He also worked as an Analyst on deputation for ICICI Securities where he published research and marketed the IPOs of two of India’s leading IT Services companies.

Gaurav is an MBA from IIM Calcutta and a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur.
